Growing up without photographs—no family portraits, no snapshots of friends, no images of milestones—I learned early on how deeply memory craves something tangible. Moving through foster homes, I carried only mental pictures: the blur of a track meet, a friend’s laugh, the shimmer of prom night. But memories fade. And what I longed for wasn’t perfection—it was presence.
Opus No. 1 is my first great work—a dedication to making sure others don’t go without.
